[Violin Torture]

Well, given that the title is Violin Torture...

I knew what to expect, more or less - Wow. If I ever need the sound of an awful, screeching violin for a flash movie, I know where to go (with your permission, of course, and with the proper credit where credit is due). Graphically, you didn't really do any work, you just imported a movie into flash, so I had to rate you low there. Sound was good, as far as it being a horrible, screechy violin. Reminds me of the days I was trying to learn violin.... Ugh.

This thing rocks! Of course, it's reminiscent of the old Warner Brother's toons, with Daffy Duck getting redrawn by the animator, etc... But very well done. I enjoyed it tremendously!

I don't give tens often. This earned a couple.

Very nice! Yes, the whole thing was very derivative of the airborne fight between Neo and Smith, but still, the whole thing was very well done, and very entertaining. All of my five are belong to this, I must say. Now I'm gonna have to go check out your other submissions.

The background was very pretty.

Overall, I thought the animation was decent. The background was gorgeous, and it was a well written thing. It was awkward in spots, the way it was read - It was clear that the person reading it was reading along with the words, particularly at the beginning. "I realize now I've.... done a lot of.... bad things to people." Overall, it's pretty good, but I think the narration/captions could have been redone.

Still, the drawings were nice. There just didn't really seem to be much point to the story, though.

You have taken on too much.

It's clear that you're not a very experienced flash designer yet, and I think you took on too much with this. You clearly want it to be an epic thing, but the poor quality of the graphics, the poorly written script, the poorly edited sounds -all of these detract from what appears to be at least an interesting concept. I think you should have spent more time honing your skills on shorts before jumping into something like this. Know your limitations.

Also, the "smiley-face" shape to the "spark" in his eye was just way too cheesy.

[Nursery Rhymes: the truth]

It starts out not too bad...

It starts out fairly well - I actually expected it to be about the true origins of nursery rhymes, and so I was pleasantly suprised to see a complete spoof. The sound is good, and you seem to be decent at singing nursery rhymes, and the animation was decent... But I got bored around the middle of it, and found it to get more boring as time went on.

Not terrible, though, a good effort.
