This is clearly not stolen.

I think the person who said you were ripping off the other one has never heard the song before seeing it as a music video here. I've watched both videos, and yes, there were similarities - Triangle man was a triangle - well that's a no brainer - Universe man had a watch - once again, suggested by the song lyrics. Stuff like that. I liked this one better because you actually set your audio to stream, I think - the other video set it to event, and the events quickly lost cohesion with the music.

Not bad. Of course, the first video for this song that I'm aware of was actually done in an episode of Tiny Toon Adventures. Yup.

It was...

Interesting. No, strange. Well, both. It was strangely interesting. Man. You are strange. It's like a dream.

Honestly, I don't know what to say about this other than that. I did watch it all the way through - it kept me interested long enough for that.

Odd.

"Tune in every day for a new episode"

Um... You'd have to tune in pretty quickly after you submit it, because, I think this one's getting blammed. In fact, I'd better hurry if I want to finish this review before that happens.

Firstly - what is up with that sound? There was all this tape static kind of noise, and some other stuff going on in the background - and I could barely hear what anyone was saying.

Second - yeah, the graphics - Might have been acceptable if the sound was better. I still don't know if there was actually a joke in there or not.

That was really long.

OR did it just feel that way? No, I think it was really really really long.

I was bored, but I sat through it anyway. I wish the button to attempt to kill him did something other than say "error."

You need to learn the joys of "Stream" versus "event" sounds. Streaming audio stays in sync with the frames. Event audio doesn't. I have a reasonably fast machine, but the frames lost sync with the sound anyway.

Anyway, you clearly spent a long time animating this thing, but unfortunately it was kind of boring. I don't know what to suggest, it just wasn't really very funny.

Sorry.

PistNBroke responds:

Thanks, I never realized there was a difference. Its only the first serious movie we ever made.

Nice, but it could have used about 5 more seconds!

The only thing missing was someone coming through the door and surveying the damage - thereby allowing for a pan of the entire place, showing melted crayon, dead kid, etcetera etcetera.

But it was excellent! Nicely done!

You really need to re-do this

You really need to re-do this, and stream the audio. I know it'll be a pain in the butt to re-sync, but there is just no way to guarantee that the sound will sync properly without streaming. On my computer, it played until almost the middle before the video started to lag behind the audio.

The song was funny... Kinda reminded me of "Gonads and Strife," and something else I can't quite remember right now. The video was all right, not terribly interesting, but well done - if only it had been in sync with the audio.

Interesting

One thing I had a hard time with was that I've never been a big fan of The White Stripes - and I love the Cab Calloway version of that song, so the song was just odd to me.

Ok, I saw bits and pieces that made me go "ooooh" - the very beginning was pretty nice. I also liked how you did your best to keep things bopping with the beat. Nice. But it seemed like you got "lazy" on the animation in places, and some of it was pretty darn strange.

Ah, well. Keep at it, I'm interested to see what else you come up with.

Okaaay

I'm not offended by stuff like that, but I didn't really find it all that funny either. It was well drawn and animated, but I just didn't laugh. Sorry.

I know there are plenty of folks out there who will love this, though.

koit responds:

Not a problem. And thank you for your honest appraisal.

Eh.

Your preloader worked fine, nice job. HEre's how I came up with my rating...

You got some negative because it's yet another "sprite" toon - too many of those out there. You got some more negative because of the bad chaos emerald effect - it just took too long, and the music was playing all the while, seemed weird. You got even more negative points because your main joke was ripped off of someone else - the bananna peanut butter jelly time thing. Bah.

You got some positive points because the sprites were reasonably well animated - for the most part - and at least you picked something funny to rip off. I like the peanut butter jelly time thing.

So be more original.

You know what I hate?

I hate it when you have this cartoon made by one or two people, and they insist on running a ridiculous amount of credits, when all they really need to do is say "This cartoon was made entirely by (insert names here)." Man. I hate that. Don't do that anymore.

Overall it was all right, but not fantastic. I can see that you tried very hard on the graphic designs, but you could have worked a bit harder on the cars and stuff, making more different views.

And to the previous reviewer - the guy at the end says "it's not over yet." I didn't have any trouble understanding that.

I always watch cartoons fully before reviewing them, and I try to respond to as many reviews as possible.
