I think the "dancin' bubs" thingy was better

You know, the one on homestarrunner dot com, the one where you have bubs, and you can tell his left arm what to do, and his right arm, and his legs, and his head, and you can select one of four songs, and one of four backgrounds, and... Yeah. That one was pretty cool. this one is only a pale shadow of that one, I'm afraid. Sorry to say it, but it's true.

Nice attempt tho.

Not bad, pretty fun

the noise got a little annoying after awhile.. Plus, I think it would be good if you had a limited number of decorations, and if you miss, they break. Perhaps you'd get more points the more breakable an ornament is. I dunno. But still, it's cool.

I didn't see any glitches...

I just saw a lot of things that I would consider counter-intuitive for games. One of my biggest complaints is the "one life" thing - I suppose the password thing is your way of getting around that... But with a game as hard as this, it's annoying to key in the password every time you die.
Also, I really got annoyed with the lack of good instructions - From the instructions, you can infer that green =good and the end of the level... Then you go stand in the alien spaceship's green beam and die. Uh huh. Also, the level with the dropping spikes - It just doesn't seem right that when you get to the exit, you can still get killed because your sprite hasn't faded out completely yet. I also dislike the "you have to get hurt to get through here" level with the three flames... Just annoying.

Last but not least, as cool as your little flame is, MAN - Even at low quality, the level with a lot of flames is a pain in the ass on my 1.7 ghz machine because it slows way too much. If it's too slow on 1.7, it's just too slow.

Meh... Another magic 8 ball thing

I see about one of these a week here, mostly because they're easy to do. This is slightly better than some I've seen, but still, not very original. You threw in some random game sprites, which was very random of you. Your music was annoying, a choice of different music would have been better (or the choice to just turn it off). And the main problem with ALL of these 8-ball things - There's not much to do. After 30 seconds of it, you've pretty much played it as much as you need to. No, I probably didn't see all the messages - but I didn't want to sit and look at the same ones over and over, so I stopped playing.

Eh.

I was gonna rate you low on the bad music choice

Then I realized that I had another flash load at the same time with really annoying sappy electronic music, and didn't realize. So you don't get low points for annoying music.

Let's see.

The graphics were stick figures, and they moved kind of sluggishly, that's why I rated that low.

Style you got points there because that really cool crosshairs thingy in the menu, for one - that's cool - and the game in general was pretty cool, although - once again - the character's movements were sluggish, it was like the whole game was happening in slow motion.

Sound - Appropriate sounds, not much I can say there - it worked.

Violence - Yup, it was violent, nicely done.

Interactivity - yep, although it was sluggish.

Humor? Didn't really see any, so that's a N/A.

One thing that kind of bothered me is that I wanted to be able to re-raise the flag. I understand why you can't, but it just seemed weird to me, if they can lower it, why can't I raise it? Perhaps it would be better if you can raise the flag, but you have to stop shooting to do it - and the lower the flag is, the more bad guys come after you. It would add more excitement to the game.

Good job tho.

Hmm

Well, one thing I would say is that it's too easy. I didn't die once, I played for about 10 minutes, got past a "3D" thing.

Seonc - if this is supposed to be an old atari game, the graphics are inconsistent with that type of game. I mean, the mechs are all right, although I think they're too simplified for even old atari graphics. The lazer is a clean line - in an old atari game, it would be pixely. Same with the bullets. The introduction was too high-res too. I would have gone ahead and done the WHOLE thing in atari 2600 style graphics, or none of it. A combination of the two, like you have, is kind of odd.

The sounds are suffering from the same thing. Some sound modern, some sound atari-ish. STick with one or the other.

The gameplay is kinda neat, kinda like asteroids, kinda like something else I can't place. But overall, it's a good idea. It's just too easy.

Oooh! In an old atari game, the entire screen would probably flash when you got hit, or hit something big, or something like that. Definitely it would flash when you died. Does this one? I don't know - I didn't die. Like I said, too easy.

I hope this is helpful to you.

It's a very nice looking game

The graphics and sounds are good, the physics seem realistic, overall, I'm impressed.

Unfortunately, it's just way way too hard for me. I got to the third level, but only had one stroke left... Didn't have the patience to play it again.

I got to level four...

Then I decided I was sick of playing the first three levels over and over again. That's the kind of thing that kills a game like this. It's a fun little game, more or less, but my complaints are that you need a set number of lives, and to begin at the level you last died on until you run out of lives, and it needs to be slightly easier to land on the platforms. If you don't land dead center on them, you pass through them. Annoying.

I disagree with m-a-r-c-u-s about color - coding the falling blocks, I figure you'll figure them out anyway... But yeah, some color would be nice, maybe some cool stuff in the background - a different background for each level or something. Overall, kinda fun, but it gets old after awhile.

Nice! With some better graphics...

With some better graphics, this would be AWESOME. It's a great variation on an old game - The buttons and such really add a dimension to it that wasn't there before. The music gets repetitive, but that's ok. Good job.

It's okay...

The problem with this kind of quiz is if you fail, you just go through it again until you win. Took me all of 3 minutes to get through it, and I was guessing at half the questions. You need to have a pool of at least ten questions that are picked randomly for each level of play, not just one question. It needs sound, it's kind of boring without it. It would be better if the background was animated, not just a still image.

Still, it runs smoothly, etcetera... It just needs more depth to it.

I always watch cartoons fully before reviewing them, and I try to respond to as many reviews as possible.
