First, an apology.
You know, in listening to this one, I realized - you DID get a new mic. Sorry about that. It DOES sound much better. Sorry about that. I just heard one guy before, and he sounded nasal, and I assumed it was your mic.. . And now I realize, one of the characters just sounds really nasal.
Anyway, on to the review.
Most people seem to think automatically that you're ripping on beavis and butthead. I don't see that. Yes, we have two guys there, saying stuff to each other, but that's about it... Well, the other thing is they're just staring forward at the screen.
They need to move more - they're just staring... unblinking... at me... LOOKING INTO MY VERY SOUL!!! AAAAAGHGHHGHH!!!!! ...ahem - Excuse me. They should blink. They should also move around. Having them just stare forward while talking to each other is kind of weird too.
The music was kind of... I dunno, it didn't really fit. It was like something from Spyro the dragon or something, kinda weird. Here's a suggestion.
First, make them blink. Easy enough to do. Make a little clip of each characters eyes, and have it so many frames long, and every so many frames (randomly placed) put in a blink. You can have like 5 or 6 blinks in a single animation. Do two, one for each character, and time the blinks differently, and make them slightly different lengths - this will simulate randomness.
wtf am I doing teaching you flash? You clearly know flash. Sorry. I'll move on.
Secondly, you need to make a couple different angles. They can still stare straight forward, but a couple different angles would be good.
Thirdly - and this is key - you should have them doing something. the way they're looking forward here made me think of them watching TV (which I think is where a lot of people get Beavis and Butthead) or playing video games. Video games would be good, because you could have ambient video game noises... Also, the characters could be moving back and forth a bit, maybe periodically raising a controller into the screen with thumbs moving furiously over them. THAT would add visual interest, and the video game noises would be good there too.
Another idea is to have them playing some other game, facing each other... And cut from one character to another... But once again, I think having them move around a bit is key... Like playing foosball, or air hockey, or something.
I dunno, they're just ideas. Because I think what's really the problem is (a) it's visually boring because the characters just sit there, unmoving except for their mouths, until the end (b) kind of weird because they're just staring into space and not even looking at each other when they talk (c) the music is oddly out of place (d) they never ever ever blink or move or anything... Ok, I know that's the same as A, but that's a big one.
Anyway, I hope that this has been helpful, I hope my suggestions are helpful, etcetera. Good luck.
